Get Involved –

JustWrite is a project that is intended to “build community.”  The idea and concept of taking previously disconnected populations and intertwining them via the internet in a dialogue, and creative process that speaks to the human nature of all those involved, is our way of saying “There is no wrong, JustWrite.”  We take too much time, dividing ourselves, sectioning ourselves and each other off in this world – but here and now, there need not be any divided space; with JustWrite, through our website and our vision we can exist, together!

We say “we,” because we would like you to be involved.

To find out how you can “Get Involved” email us at justwritenm@gmail.com

Thank You,
JustWrite crew

  1. Hello,
I was directed to your blog by my son, RC, who is one of the MDC Inmate authors. I applaud what you are doing and that you are giving voices to these young men, some who may not have even known they had voices! Beautiful work. Thank you.

  2. I would like to see my Son Lloyd J. Tapia’s who is at MDC poems. Will you be posting more poems

  3. DC I’m so glad that these men are letting out there true feelings and emotions gives them time to realize that there’s a whole lot of love coming from the heart and mind.

  4. This is a dope program! I spoke to the youth at the Bernalillo County Juvenile Detention in Albuquerque, NM in 2011. They have copies of my anthology “The Bandana Republic, a Literary Anthology by Gang Members, and their affiliates.” -Bruce George, Co-Founder of Def Poetry Jam on HBO

  5. I was released a few days ago from MDC, I was only able to attend one of your workshops but it had a huge impact on my stay. Thank you Carlos and Diahndra.

  6. Just saw Carlos and this program on LA Art. This is a beautiful idea. l commend Carlos and those involved on making a difference to both inmates and people outside by creating a platform for understanding and healing to take place. Hoping this spreads beyond New Mexico!
